KNOW YOUR MAX.
Estimate a one-rep max from a set you actually did, see the percentage table and load the bar without doing plate math in your head.
Epley: weight × (1 + reps ÷ 30). Brzycki: weight × 36 ÷ (37 − reps). The table uses the Epley estimate, rounded to 5 lb.

How it works
The estimate is a starting point.
A one-rep-max estimate turns a set you already completed into a working number. It is not a test you have to pass, and it is not a guarantee. Use it to choose loads, then let the bar tell you the truth.
- Epley
- 1RM = weight × (1 + reps ÷ 30).
- Brzycki
- 1RM = weight × 36 ÷ (37 − reps).
- Reps
- Use 1–12 reps. The further you get from a single, the rougher the estimate.
- Rounding
- The percentage table rounds to 5 lb or 2.5 kg. The plate loader shows the closest load and any remainder.
- Bar
- 45 lb or 20 kg standard bar, with a 35 lb or 15 kg option. Plates are loaded greedily per side.
